Jennifer Billings
Bantam Rep Nominee
My name is Jennifer Billings and I am running for the position of Bantam Level Rep for the 2023-2024 hockey season.  Our family has been part of the SPYHA family for the past 6+ years.  Our son Noah will be a first year Bantam this season and my husband Adam
has been a coach with SPYHA the past 4 seasons.  The last 2 years I was the PeeWee Level Rep and prior to that I served 1 year as the Squirt Level Rep and another year on the Fundraising Committee.  I would love to continue to work with other SPYHA Board members to ensure that this next season is the best one yet for our players, families, and the SPYHA community!

Outside of hockey, I am entering my 17th year of teaching in the DeForest Area School district. I enjoy working with children and their families and I look forward to getting to know more hockey players and families this season.

Thank you for your time and consideration in choosing me to be the Bantam Level Rep for the 2023-2024 hockey season!

Larry Clemens
Coaches Rep Nominee
Bio coming soon!

Megan Davis
Girl's Hockey Rep Nominee
My name is Megan Davis and I am the mom of 3 hockey players- 2 of which are female. My 2006 daughter plays for the Cap City Cougars and my 2011 daughter will be a 2nd year Peewee. I am interested in creating opportunities for female hockey players which help them grow and develop as athletes and more importantly young women.

Stephen Elmer
Treasurer Nominee
My name is Stephen Elmer and I am interested in running for the Treasurer position on the SPYHA board. My son Grant will be in his 4th year of hockey, and will be a first year Pee Wee this upcoming season. I am a licensed CPA, and have 20+ years of public and private accounting, financial mgmt, and budgeting experience. I served as the Asst Treasurer in the 2022-23 season, so my experience would be a great asset to the Board in the Treasurer role. SPYHA is a great organization, and needs to have strong financial management to ensure it will be financially strong for many years to come.

Thanks for your consideration.

Casey Moen
Squirt Rep Nominee
My name is Casey Moen and I'm running for the '23/'24 season Squirt Rep. I have two sons. Declan (9) has played with SPYHA since age 4 and will be a second-year Squirt this season. Griffin (11) played one year as a Mini-Mite and has since moved on to other sports/activities. Over the years I have been involved with SPYHA in many ways. I was a Mite Team Rep ('20/'21), Mite Level Rep/Board Member ('21/'22) and Winter Classic Team Coordinator ('22/'23). We've met so many wonderful people during our time with SPYHA and are grateful for the experiences both our boys have had so far. I'm looking forward to another great season of watching SPYHA kiddos develop as hockey players and good humans! When I'm not running the boys to activities, I co-own a small marketing company and manage corporate accounts. I also volunteer for the Dane County Meals on Wheels program.

Chad Krogstad
PeeWee Rep Nominee
Thank you for your consideration as the SPYHA PeeWee (12 and Under) Level Rep.

This past two seasons, I had the pleasure to serve as the Squirt Level Rep.  It has been a great learning experience and I hope to have the opportunity to leverage this knowledge in the next year. I enjoy getting to know the Players, Families, Coaches and Board Members and working collaboratively to serve our players and organization.

It is important to me that each team (A, B, C1, C2 / youth, girls) including Players, Families and Coaches have the same support, resources, and opportunities to continue on their Hockey journey.  I will continue to collaborate with our Girls Hockey Rep and families across our org to build a sustainable girls program for our area.  It is also important to me that we continue to grow and evolve our organization for future families and players to enjoy as much as we are.

Michelle (wife) and I have two players in the organization, daughter Bennett (2011) and son Harrision (2012).  We started our Hockey journey when Harrison participated in Try Hockey for Free and Bennett joined soon after.  Next year Bennett will be a 2nd year PeeWee and Harrision a 1st year PeeWee.  We are very thankful for the many relationships we have built over these years and the common bonds of supporting our kids in doing what they love.

Eric Morehouse
President Elect Nominee
My name is Eric Morehouse, and I am running for President-Elect of SPYHA. My family has been a part of Sun Prairie Youth Hockey for the last 4 years. Our son, Jack, will be a 2nd year Squirt this coming season. I have been a team rep at both the Mite and Squirt levels. Outside of hockey, I have coached high school tennis in Sun Prairie, as well as currently coaching for the Sun Prairie Soccer Club. At present, I am also the Vice President of the Sun Prairie Soccer Club Board of Directors.

My goal in this position would be to make sure that we are encouraging as many kids to play hockey as possible, and then supporting them as they grow within the sport. I have learned through previous board positions how important it is to be a resource for families, and be a support system, not an impediment.

Thank you for your consideration.

Brandon Schmidt
President Elect Nominee
Our hockey family life was born in 2018, and our son is entering his first PeeWee season of SPYHA hockey. Looking to share the joy that we experienced, I began seeking out volunteer opportunities and ways to contribute to the success of SPYHA. Since then, my active participation on the SPYHA Board has reinforced my passion for sharing the benefits that hockey brings to our children.

I look forward to continuing a role on the SPYHA Board. Should I be elected, I will utilize my experiences in and out of this great sport to the benefit of our youth hockey program. I will strive to align our membership and organize our efforts to benefit the experience for all of our players. Thank you for your support.

Recent SPYHA experiences include:
2018-2020 Try Hockey for Free program
2018-2020 Learn to Play (New to Hockey)
2018-2020 USA Hockey 2&2 / Hat-trick Challenge
2018-2019 Minimite board level rep
2019-2020 Mite board level rep
2020-2021 Mite board level rep
2022-2023 Squirt Team Rep

Shannon Trine
PeeWee Rep Nominee
Hello, I’m Shannon Trine and I’m running for the position of Pee Wee level rep for this next hockey season.

My two children play this wonderful sport.

We’ve been with the association for over 7 years. My youngest, Lukas is a first year PeeWee and my oldest, Nolan will be a second year Bantam.

My volunteer time for the association has been as a team rep in 2021 -2022 and Tournaments co-Director in 2022-2023. I’ve learned so much in both roles and want to take the experience and knowledge I’ve gained to help our families, player and association excel in every way that we can.

It’s important to me that we continue to grow our youth, while keeping them the main focus for decisions and opportunities while encouraging them through this great sport.

Thank you for your time and consideration for this years Pee Wee rep.

Kylie West
Mite Rep Nominee
My name is Kylie West, and this will be our 3rd season involved with SPYHA. My step-son Liam will be a 2nd year Squirt and my son Dawson will begin his second year of hockey as a 2015 Mite. Our families have continued to choose SPYHA’s program for the kids because of the wonderful culture we’ve experienced since the beginning. I was the Squirt B Winter Classic Coordinator last season for Liam’s team, and as Dawson grows to love the sport, I am eager to be more involved with the program early on. It’s important to me to make sure other families who are newer to SPYHA feel the same warm welcome to the program that we did, and that all SPYHA families are treated equally.

When we’re not at the rink, we spend a lot of time at the pool and taking road trips (albeit, usually hockey related). Professionally, I work as the Executive Assistant for the Village Of Waunakee, manage social media and event coordination for Create Waunakee, and assist the Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador. I have coached youth softball the last two seasons and starting in July, I will be serving as Secretary on the Waunakee Rotary Club Board of Directors. We’re eager for this next hockey season, and I am confident that I can be successful at the role of SPYHA Mite Rep for the ‘23-‘24 season!
